I have spent the last 15 years indulging in the love of fiber and history, learning, teaching and practicing medieval, traditional and modern techniques of sewing and textile crafts. I make historical costumes on commission, and also for myself and my husband, Randy Asplund (who is a medieval book artist). I also research and teach textile techniques. Within my very active participation in medieval reenactment, I dabble in more than the textile arts, and some of the fruits of my labors will have space on these pages. When I am not making medieval costumes or fantasy inspired clothing, I may be making steam-punk costumes, wedding dresses, saving someones favorite jeans with some creative patching, or making a new sun dress. I would love to help you to discover the greatness of fibers, the joy of hand-craft, and the quality of uniquely custom made clothes. I am innovative and like combining my knowledge of ancient crafts with modern shapes and ideas, bringing it all together in a style of my own. |
